Your 4ormat Site and Mobile Devices

Your 4ormat site has been developed to be compatible with mobile devices, including tablets like the iPad. From your Design tab you’ll be able to choose a few options for these devices, each with its own separate controls.

If you select Tablet Design, you’ll be taken to a screen with a few basic options. You can choose to use the touch-based tablet design, which will present your site in a “web-app” style rather than with the customizations you’ve made through the Design Customizer. The intention of this presentation mode is to provide a very minimalist, touch-friendly application for your viewers. You’ll be able to choose either a black or white color scheme, and you can upload a logo image to replace the default logo text. Alternatively, you can choose “Use my website theme” which will display your site in the same manner as on a conventional computer. Note that some themes will not work properly on tablets, so it’s a good idea to test out this option before committing to it.

If you go to Mobile Design you’ll be presented with the same set of options - either using the “web-app” style interface or your current website theme. Again, some themes will not be compatible with mobile devices, so it is important for you to test this out before you decide to use your current theme. The “web-app” look and feel has been specifically geared towards smartphones and will ensure compatibility across a wide range of devices.
