4ormat lets you customize the theme you’re working with in real time, so that you can see the changes you are making before you decide to commit them to your page. In this way, you can try different themes and test different design options without affecting your live site. To access the customization interface visit the Design tab from your main menu and then click on Edit Your Website Design.

Once you’re in the interface you’ll see the Customize Design toolbar. This toolbar can be repositioned anywhere you like by clicking and dragging it, allowing you to see changes made as they are applied to the site preview underneath. The toolbar is subdivided into collapsing categories - clicking the category name will expand it. Each category (such as Typography and Color) will have relevant settings you can adjust by clicking on that setting. Once you’ve adjusted the setting to your liking, simply click on the back arrow to be returned to the category root.

When you are confident you wish to implement the changes you’ve made, click “Save and Apply to My Site”. Remember, once you save this change is final and you will not be able to revert to your previous design customizations.
